"Exporting of favorites has been disabled on this machine" error using Import Export Wizard in Internet Explorer


When you choose the Import and Export option under File menu in Internet Explorer, you may receive this error message:


"Exporting of favorites has been disabled on this machine"


This happens if the restriction DisableImportExportFavorites is enabled in the registry. 1. Click Start/Run and type REGEDIT
2. Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows\ CurrentVersion \Policies \ Explorer
3. Backup the registry key to a REG file. See here for more information.
4. In the right-pane, delete DisableImportExportFavorites
5. Close Registry Editor.
